B is for Board Books

I can't get enough of these lovely things. Here's a post or two that highlights some of my favorites:

Entertaining Travel Reads Highlights books we bring with us when we travel. The tiny person is so entertained by books.

Childhood Books Books from my childhood that I still own and read practically nightly.

Christmas Sparkles A post about Lila's favorite board book...um, it isn't really about Christmas at all, but it does highlight her obsession with The Nightmare Before Christmas.

And, here are my new favorites!
“Baby Lit was created in one of those ‘lightning strikes’ moments,” says Gibbs Smith creative director and series editor Suzanne Taylor. “We knew there was nothing like it available for the age group, and that the books would be a great introduction to perennial classics both for very small children and parents who might never have read the classics before.”

And, you can pre-order Dracula!

  2. I love board books! I'm a little sad that we're moving out of that time, but then I am also having tons of fun with picture books and chapter books for my kiddos. It's one of those signs of them getting bigger that you don't think about until you're clearing the shelves and find the unread board books. :(

I'm your co-host for the A-to-Z! If you didn't get an email from me the other day, it may have gone in your spam box. Please feel free to contact me via my profile or reply to that email if you need anything or have any questions.

  4. My wife and I did a couple of years as foster parents - and a nightly story was part of our routine - we have a bunch of board books for the small fry - and chapter books for the bigger kids. They all seemed to enjoy my "dramatic" readings - with my vocal interpretations of the entire Winnie the Pooh cast being voted the favorite! Cheers!
