Six Word Saturday #11

My life in six words
" Today we celebrate our Independence Day!"
~President Whitmore in Independence Day

Anybody else go watch this movie on opening day with their friends and/or family and have to wait in, what appeared to be, the longest line ever, like ended in the hot, hot sun out the door and around the building, longest line ever?

Here's what I aspire to make for the 4th of July...

Tyler Florence has all the answers for the main course in Tyler's Ultimate

Other choice burgers:
Michael Chiarello's Roasted Garlic burger
Paula Deen's Black and Blue burger
Rachel Ray's Turkey and Bean burger
Bobby Flay's Regionally Inspired burgers
Steven Raichlen's  Butter Burger (anything Steven Raichlen would do, as he is the master of all things 'grill')

Dessert
Katie Brown Workshop Season 3 Episode 8

There isn't a picture, but it's b-e-a-utiful!

Of course, it isn't the 4th without...

What foods say the 4th of July to you?

Want to play along? All that's necessary to participate is to describe your life (or something) in a phrase using just six words. For more information, try clicking here. Feel free to explain or not explain. Add an image, a video, a song, nothing. The full list and linky can be found here. And, here's where I found it.

  1. Hi Stephanie...Happy Saturday!

I am boring I guess...but the foods that seem like the fourth of July to me are:

    Hot Dogs and Hamburgers
    Corn on the cob
    Potato Salad
    Chips
    Watermelon
    Ice Cream

However this year my hubby is grilling steaks.

    Happy 4th of July!

  2. When I first visited America in 1987 I was there for my first 4th of July experience - I loved it.

Hope you have a great one

  3. 4th of July is definetly not complete without a good ol back yard BBQ w/ a big juicy hamburger and potatoe salad. And in our area strawberrys are abundant right now so maybe some Strawberry Shortcake. This year we are going to a BBQ rather than hosting it, which will be nice. Sometimes when you host, you don't get to enjoy as much. Have a Happy 4th of July!

  4. Oh, I wonder if Blockbuster would still have a couple copies of that movie available? My daughters would like that one! I think we need to make an extra stop while we are running errands today.

Potato salad definitely says 4th of July to me.

  6. The perfect 7/4 feast: Anything someone else is willing to make. I prefer freedom from grilling.

  11. Independence Day was fab, I still remember my son, who was about ten at the the time, suddenly bursting out "this film is brilliant!"

  12. Yum to those recipes! July 4th is also my brother's birthday, though we won't be near enough to celebrate with him. Our food plans include some yummy grilled burgers and corn.

And that's a great movie - I should rewatch it. Thanks for playing 6WS!
